Be My Thrill

Note to self: when there is wind advisory, do not don a skirt. I walked out of my house dressed like this and trotted down onto 16th Ave. to grab my tripod from my car. A gust of wind had a the pleasure of lifting my skirt in full view of the construction workers renovating the half-double across the street and giving them a little thrill this morning. At least my tights helped me maintain a bit of my dignity. But nonetheless, I'm pretty popular with these fellows now.

(I got caught in a bit of a strong breeze in this photo as well but managed to keep my skirt in check.)

Today was a strange day. It seemed like decent weather, albeit a bit overcast and absurdly windy, when I took my photos. About an hour later, it was raining so hard that you could barely see more than a few feet in front of your face and the tornado sirens were going off like crazy. Driving to work this afternoon was a nightmare, literally. I must admit, I kind of let the weather (in conjunction with a ridiculous bout of insomnia I've been having lately) get the best of me for a while this afternoon. But it really turned around this evening at work when my favorite customer came in. And now, miracle of miracles, I kind of have a date with him this weekend. At least I think it's a date. Did I mention before that I'm no good at this type of thing? It's scary to think about throwing myself back into the dating world. But these days, I think I'm just going to roll with whatever the Midwest throws at me, be it severe weather or an adorable boy. Who am I to argue with what this place provides? It has given me the best friends, prettiest home, and strongest sense of creativity I've known in life thus far.

  1. I love this look. I may have to copy it!
The wind here (I'm in Chicago) is unbelievable, too. At least you get that super-model wind blown look, right? :)
Good luck on your date this weekend.
